Product Overview

The Auriou Roughing Rasp, AKA "The Hog", is used to remove the most amount of wood in the shortest possible time.

It has a genuine half round section and is stitched all the way to the tip and edges with grain G3.

"The Hog" can reduce your wood blank to more closely resemble to the shape you want - cabriole leg, guitar neck, gun stock, decoy duck blanks - whatever it may be. It is more aggressive than the wider grain G4 cabinet rasp, which would be an alternative rasp for this kind of work.

Grain Guide

These are precision shaping tools so look carefully at the range and decide what best suits your needs.

Order Notes

    Excellent tool

I'm impressed with the quality of this rasp. First one I've purchased and the little bit I've used so far, truly best rasp I've ever owned.

    What an animal, The Hog!

Used this the first time and it just rips material off but still leaves a decent surface that can be easily cleaned up with a smoother cut rasp. Makes quick work after the bandsaw. Usual Auriou quality, the best.
